Musa Na Allah, Sokoto

The Sultan of Sokoto, his eminence Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III has called on youths in the state to embrace entrepreneurship rather than waiting for white-collar jobs.

He spoke on Sunday in a goodwill message at a one-day capacity-building program for Sokoto State Professional Network members held at Sokoto Guest In.

Represented by the District Head of Gagi, Sani Umar Jabi, Abubakar urged the participants to put the lecture into practice.

“Let me call on our youths to key into entrepreneurship and be a contributor to the nation’s economy and stop expecting much from government

Chairman of the program, Abdulrahman Bashar, described the one-day capacity building as a unique opportunity to find solutions to the rising unemployment cases among youths.

Represented by the managing Director of Rahamaniyya fertilizer blending company, Mr Satish Sing, Bashar called on youths especially in the state to engage in things that would build their capacity and enhance their living standards.

He reiterated that,  though one may decide to look for a white-collar job, attention should be more on entrepreneurship.

He, however, advised youths to engage in small-scale businesses that help them earn a living.

“Nigeria is blessed with natural resources, thereby focusing on entrepreneurship will be key to a successful tomorrow.”

He donated two million Naira to support the one-day capacity-building program.

In his welcome address, the chairman of the Sokoto professional network, Zayyanu Tambari Yabo, assured participants that the resource persons are all up to the task
