6 Corps Members have been given an extension of service for various offenses contravening the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Bye-laws.
Some 741 Corps Members of the 2022 Batch A Stream 1 passed out on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi.
Addressing newsmen on Monday in her office, the newly posted State Coordinator, Mrs. Okolo Agatha Banki said that their extension was in compliance with the NYSC Law.
The State Coordinator congratulated the successful 2022 Batch A Stream 1 Corps Members as they successfully bowed out of national service today.
Mrs. Okolo who distributed the NYSC certificates to the outgoing Corps members at the Kebbi State Secretariat charged them to effectively put into practice, all the skills they acquired during their one-year national service.
“NYSC has not only given you platforms to acquire loans, such as Bank of Industries, Central Bank of Nigeria, NYSC Foundation, etc, to get you established, but it has also, given you abundant knowledge which supersedes wealth.”
She said as she encouraged them to utilize the gains of the NYSC skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development.
The State Coordinator commended corps members’ dedication, doggedness, and immense contribution to the development of the State, especially in the educational and health sectors.
Mrs. Okolo further called on them not to take exiting the NYSC Scheme, as an end to their service to the nation but rather, as the opening of a new chapter of more positive contributions to our great nation Nigeria.
She charged them to shun all shades of deviant characters. And advised those who will be participating in the forthcoming elections, to be apolitical and be guided by the rules of INEC.
“I took over the mantle of leadership in the State barely a month ago and for this reason, I find it so difficult to say goodbye to you so soon Mrs. Okolo said as she prayed to God to take them safely to their various destinations.”
