KANSIEC Commences Screening of Candidates

Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) has commenced the screening of candidates vying for chairmanship and vice chairmanship posts at the commission’s headquarters, 15 Tuesday, 2020.

The four-day exercise was planned to screen candidates from 44 local governments by two panels headed by Dr Dahiru Abbas Kachako commissioner of planning research and statistics and Alh Haruna Geza a commissioner of voter education of the commission respectively.

According to Dr Kachako, “so far, so good, we are screening credentials and ensure that candidates have the requirements tax clearance included.”

The head of the other panel, Alh Hamza Geza said “the conduct of the screening is going smoothly and parties are presenting presentable candidates with needed documents on ground.”

The Public Relations Officer of the Commission, Dahiru Lawan Kofar Wambai said after completion of the exercise, the panels will submit comprehensive report on the contestants for the next line of action.
