Kano Unveils Fertilizer Initiative, Power Distribution Plans To Boost Local Farming, Economy

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has announced the launch of a fertilizer sales initiative to benefit farmers across the state’s 44 local government areas, set to align with this year’s rainy season.

On Tuesday, A statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, quoted Governor Yusuf saying the decision was taken during the 16th Kano State Executive Council meeting at the Council chamber, Government House, Kano.  

He emphasized that the initiative aims to ensure a fruitful harvest and a seamless farming season for local farmers.

The Governor also revealed plans to distribute electricity transformers to communities within the 44 local government areas.

This provision aims to enhance power supply and stimulate growth in small-scale industries and economic activities, particularly in rural areas.

Expressing gratitude for the support and collaboration of Kano’s populace, Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to executing developmental projects that directly improve the livelihoods of the state’s residents.
