The Nationwide League One, NLO, secretariat Thursday said the opening encounter in the 2023 league season will be played at Sani Abacha stadium on May 3, by 3.00 pm.
The secretariat said Kano City has been confirmed to play host to the official kick-off game to mark the commencement of its 2023 season.
The NLO said Kano Pillars JNR are scheduled to trade tackles against arch-rival Kwankwasiyya FC on May 3 to ignite the start of hostilities across the country, in Nigeria’s third-tier league.
According to the Chief Operating Officer, COO of the League, Olushola Ogunnowo said “The Nationwide League One Secretariat hereby wishes to inform all the clubs in the League that due to circumstances beyond our control we are forced to shift the earlier communicated date of commencement of the NLO season.

“2023 season kick-off (div. one) – 3rd May 2023

Olushola added that “The NLO Secretariat regrets any inconveniences this date shift might cause your team and the State Football Association. “
