Kano: Tarauni Council Chairman Launches Distribution of School Uniforms to Over 9,000 Primary Pupils

The Chairman of Tarauni Local Government Area, Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Sekure, has officially launched the distribution of school uniforms to over 9,000 Primary One pupils in public primary schools across the Local Government Area.

The launching ceremony was held on Tursday at the Conference Hall of the Islamic Propagation Centre, Tarauni LGA, and attracted key government officials, education stakeholders, and community leaders.

Speaking at the event, Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Sekure described the initiative as part of the Kano State Government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

He emphasized that providing school uniforms to young pupils is aimed at encouraging school enrolment and giving children a strong foundation for quality learning.

According to the Local Government Information Officer, Adamu Iliyasu Hotoro, the Chairman reiterated that investment in education remains a top priority for the Kano State Government.

He noted that the initiative aligns with the vision of the Commissioner for Education, Malam Ali Haruna Makoda, and the Kano State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) under the leadership of Malam Yusuf Kabir, to ensure access to quality education for all children.

The Chairman further urged parents and guardians to continue encouraging their children to pursue education at all levels, describing education as a vital tool for protecting young people from modern societal vices.

In his remarks, the Education Secretary of Tarauni Local Government, Comrade Bashir Muhammad Karkasara, pledged his full commitment to the effective implementation of all educational programs introduced by the Kano State Government.

Also speaking at the event, the Director of Personnel Management, Tijjani Madaki Gulya, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Chairman of Tarauni Local Government, Suleiman Muhammad Inuwa Hugan, and the Political Adviser to the Chairman, Aliyu Sani Zaki, commended the Local Government Chairman for his outstanding efforts, particularly in the education sector.

They reaffirmed their continued support and commitment to providing constructive advice aimed at strengthening primary education from the grassroots level across Tarauni Local Government Area.
