Kano: Seven Stolen Children Found in Anambra, Enugu

The Kano State Government, Monday, announced more discovery of seven stolen children.

The children were found in Anambra and Enugu States.

The State Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, in an interview with BBC Hausa Service says parents of the children have already identified their kids and they will soon be reunited.

He says the committee instituted by the Kano State Government to search for over a hundred missing children found seven of them during a mission to Anambra and Enugu States.

The Commissioner says government is working to verify the claims of the people before the children will be handed over to them and the rescue mission would continue until the remaining missing children meet their biological parents.

Ibrahim Isma’il, is a father of one of the many missing children and Chairman, Parents of Missing Persons in Kano.

He says pictures and videos of the children found in Enugu were taken and spread until some people claimed they were the biological parents of five of the children.

Isma’il is expresses joy over the discovery of seven stolen children. “We’re happy with the discovery, only two children among the seven found are yet to be identified by their parents, however, we are still searching for 113 children that are still missing.”
