Kano State Ministry of Education has announced Saturday, 13th December 2025 as the date for the commencement of 1st term vacation to all Day and Boarding Public/Private Primary and Post Primary Schools in the state.
Parents/Guardians of Pupils and Students in the Boarding schools are therefore, requested to convey their wards home on Friday 12th December, 2025.
Boarding Schools’ Pupils and Students are to resume back to their respective Schools on Sunday 18th January, 2026, while Day Students are to resume on Monday 19th January, 2026.
Second Term begins on Sunday 18th January, 2026 and ends on Saturday 18th April, 2026, while 3rd Term will begin on Sunday 3rd May, 2026 and ends on Saturday 1st August, 2026 respectively.
According to the Calendar, the Pupils and Students will spend 10 Days Fasting period in their respective Schools before Sallah Break. The Sallah Break will commence from Sunday 1st March, 2026 and ends on Saturday 21st March, 2026.
The Kano State Commissioner of Education, Gwani Dr. Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda called on Parents/Guardians of Pupils and Students to ensure total compliance with the approved dates.
He thanked parents and good people of the state for the usual cooperation and support given to the Ministry, wishing the Students and Pupils for a successful and hitch free 1st Term holiday.
