The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the distribution of hand luggage and uniforms to intending pilgrims across the state, marking a key step in preparations for the forthcoming Hajj exercise.
The Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman A. Dederi, said in a statement on Thursday that while flagging off the exercise, the Director-General, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, explained that the initiative is aimed at ensuring all registered pilgrims are adequately equipped and fully prepared for their spiritual journey.
According to the statement, Matawalle directed Hajj centre officers in all Local Government Areas to coordinate the distribution efficiently, ensuring that items reach pilgrims at the grassroots in an orderly and timely manner.
He also disclosed that the state has completed the processing and collection of visas for its pilgrims, noting that all logistical arrangements for the Hajj have been finalised.
According to him, the Board has provided adequate materials to cater for all registered pilgrims without exception. Items being distributed include hand luggage, uniforms for men, wrappers and hijabs for women, as well as Hajj guidebooks to assist pilgrims throughout the exercise.
He urged intending pilgrims to use the items responsibly and maintain them properly during the pilgrimage.
