Abdulraham Mai Kadama, the Senior Special Assistant on Entrepreneurship to Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State, has resigned from his position and left the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His defection to the APC was formalized after a meeting with the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, in Abuja on Wednesday.
Before his departure from the NNPP, Mr. Mai Kadama was a prominent figure in the Kwankwasiyya movement in Plateau State and also led the G-6 faction in Kano State.
In a statement on Facebook, Deputy Senate President Jibrin praised Mr. Mai Kadama’s decision, noting that he joined the APC to advance good governance and accelerate development in both Kano and Nigeria.
“Today, we welcome Abdulrahman Mai Kadama Kwankwasiyya to the APC.
“He visited my residence in Abuja, where he symbolically set aside the red cap and embraced the APC, the largest political party in Africa,” Jibrin shared.
He further added, “With his shift to the APC, he now adopts the name Mai Kadama Maliya.
“The seasoned grassroots politician also announced his resignation as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kano State on Entrepreneurship II.
Mai Kadama Maliya urged his young political allies to join the APC movement, emphasizing the party’s dedication to improving the standard of living for the people.
“As I have said before, our party, the APC, is genuinely committed to delivering the dividends of democracy. Together, we can achieve more,” Jibrin concluded.
