Kano Fire Service Rescues Teenager from Gari Dam

The Kano State Fire Service on Saturday rescued a 15-year-old boy who fell into an open body of water at Gari Dam in the Ghari Local Government Area of the state.

According to a statement by the State Fire Service spokesperson, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, the incident occurred at about 12:00 pm when the Service, under the leadership of its Director, Sani Anas, received a distress call from a resident, Usman Garba. Firefighters from the Gari Fire Station were immediately deployed to the scene.

Upon arrival, the team discovered the victim, identified as Yusuf Danliti, had fallen into the water.

He was rescued in an unconscious state and subsequently handed over to the Village Head of the area, Lawan Zangina, for further necessary action.

Reacting to the incident, the Director of the Kano State Fire Service urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and closely monitor their children, warning against swimming in open waters, which has continued to claim lives across communities.

The Kano State Fire Service reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
