The Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, has commended social media influencers in the state for their commitment to promoting government activities and programmes.
Comrade Waiya made the commendation on Sunday while representing the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, at an Iftar gathering hosted at the Government House for social media influencers.
During the event, he expressed appreciation to the influencers for their doggedness and dedication in the dissemination and propagation of the programmes and activities of the Kano State Government.
He, however, emphasized the need for sanity, responsibility, and professionalism in the use of social media platforms, noting that digital spaces must be used constructively for the benefit of society.
Comrade Waiya also conveyed the governor’s concern about the growing influence of social media and the importance of managing its operations with dignity and responsibility in order to maximize its benefits for the people.
According to him, the administration of Governor Yusuf recognizes the strategic role of young people, particularly those active on digital platforms, in shaping public discourse and driving development.
He assured that the Kano State Government would continue to provide the necessary support and opportunities to improve the lives of young people in the state, with the aim of enhancing productivity and encouraging more constructive engagements for the progress of Kano.
The Iftar gathering formed part of the government’s efforts to strengthen engagement with key stakeholders and encourage responsible digital communication in the state.
