Kano state Commissioner of Police, Samaila S. Dikko has promised to use sports in promoting peace and security in the state.
CP Samaila Dikko made the commitment on Tuesday when he received the Executives of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kano Chapter, during a courtesy visit in his office.
He commended the Association for its role in the success recorded in the last Military and Para-military Sports Competition organized by the Kano State Sports Council; the Police team emerged winners in football and other games.
CP Dikko described sports as a veritable tool for promoting unity and promised to give all the necessary assistance in prompting sports activities in the state.
On his part, the Chairman, SWAN, Kano Chapter, Comrade Zahradeen Sale, who was represented by the Secretary, Abdulgaffar Oladimiji said they were in his office for continued relationship between the Nigerian Police and SWAN in promoting sports in the state.
