The Kano State Government said it’s committed to working assiduously with relevant associations and groups to improve the overall living standard of the state’s teeming population.
The outgoing State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Sule Garo, who was recently transferred to the Ministry for Special Duties, made the disclosure at the first edition of the Annual Public Lecture Series and award Ceremony for the African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, held at Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja. The theme was “Appraising the 11-year Journey of AU Agenda 2063 and the Way Forward.”
Garo, who was among the nominees conferred with the title of Ambassador, expressed appreciation to Almighty Allah and the AU Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly for finding him worthy to be among the few who secured this rare privilege.
He further explained that this gesture would certainly serve as a moral booster to him to continue to do more in his capacity for the good people of Kano State.
He praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for giving him an opportunity to contribute his wealth of experience, in his administration and pledged to do more in his new Ministry for the overall development of Kano State.
In his welcome address the head of Mission African Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly, Amb. Dr. Stephen Gbatigbi Ben-Joel said the purpose of the lecture was to appraise the 11-year Journey of AU Agenda 2063 and to chart the way forward. This theme is both timely and profound encapsulating the essence of our collective mission as an assembly. Our role is multifaceted evaluating and analyzing progress said the head of mission.
He further explained that the African Union Agenda recognized Nasiru Garo in view of his outstanding performance achievements and competence to champion the AU Agenda 2063, this and many other considerations were carefully studied and examined to fish him out of millions to be among the recipients of this prestigious and reserved award and conferred a title of Ambassador to him.
He urged all the recipients to always use their wealth of experience to be a beacon of hope to all Africans and live by example he urged.
