Kano State Government has dismissed reports suggesting cracks within Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s cabinet, insisting that commissioners heading critical ministries remain firmly loyal to the administration.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, described recent reports on alleged political defections as misleading and deliberately crafted to distort the true situation in the state.

According to him, governance in Kano remains stable and firmly under the control of the governor, with commissioners overseeing the most strategic ministries continuing to work in alignment with the administration’s policies and vision.

Waiya stated that key ministries responsible for policy formulation, finance, infrastructure development, service delivery, and information management are fully intact and operating under the governor’s leadership.

These include the ministries of Education, Health, Works, Finance and Economic Planning, Planning and Budget, Information and Internal Affairs, Justice, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Agriculture, Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Transport, Power and Renewable Energy, Housing Development, Rural and Community Development, as well as Procurement and Project Monitoring.

He stressed that these ministries represent the core decision-making centres of government, where policies are designed and implemented, and noted that their stability underscores the strength of the current administration.

The commissioner further maintained that ongoing political developments have not disrupted governance in the state, as government activities, projects, and policies continue without interruption.

He added that the bureaucracy remains aligned and the State Executive Council continues to function effectively as the highest policy-making body.

Waiya cautioned critics against equating political headlines with real authority, noting that governance is driven by structure, legality, and institutional control rather than speculation or propaganda.

He reaffirmed that the Abba Kabir Yusuf administration remains focused on delivering its mandate to the people of Kano State and would not be distracted by what he described as political drama.
