Kano Assembly: FMCH Bill Scales Second Reading

The Kano Free Maternal Child Healthcare FMCH Bill has scaled first and second reading at the Kano State House of Assembly in its plenary session on Wednesday presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari.

The private bill which was presented by Hon Magaji Dahiru Zarewa, Member representing Rogo Constituency, and Hon Dr. Musa Ali Kachako was introduced to the floor of the House by the Majority leader Hon Labaran Abdul Madari is presently receiving legislative action at the House Committee level.  

The House also screened and confirm the appointment of Balarabe Hassan Karaye as a full-time Member of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission following the letter transmitted to the House by the Executive Governor in that respect.

This follows the report presented by the Chairman House Committee on Election, Hon. Tasi’u Ibrahim Zabainawa before the floor of the House where the House adopt both the recommendation and the report itself.

Similarly, during the session, the Kano State Contributory Health care Management Agency Amendment Bill, 2022 (1444 A.H.) Number two has scale first reading by the Clerk of the House as well as that of the Kano State Rural Access Road Agency Bill, 2022(1444 A.H.) also the Kano State Sectional and systematic land tilting and registration bill of 2022(1444 A.H.) scaled first reading.

Likewise, the House has received progress in respect of the report presentation of the Audited Account of the Government of Kano State for the year ended 31st December 2017 by the Chairman House Committee on Public Account, Hon Salisu Ibrahim Muhammad, Member, representing Doguwa Constituency.

The House adjourned sitting to 2/05/2023 in a motion moved by the Majority leader Hon Labaran Abdul Madari and was seconded by Hon Rimin Gado/Tofa constituency.
