Kano Announces Schools’ Resumption Dates After Ramadan Holiday

The Kano State Ministry of Education has announced the resumption dates for the continuation of the second term in line with the approved 2025/2026 academic calendar.

In a statement, the Director of Public Enlightenment, Kano State Ministry of Education, Musbahu Aminu Yakasai, said pupils and students in boarding schools are to resume on Sunday, 22 March 2026, while their counterparts in day schools are expected to return on Monday, 23 March 2026.

According to the statement, the second term, which resumes on 22 March, will run until Saturday, 18 April 2026.

The ministry directed all public and private schools across the state to strictly comply with the approved resumption schedule, warning that any violation would be treated as a breach of government directive.

The Commissioner of Education, Gwani Dr. Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda, urged parents and guardians to ensure full compliance with the resumption dates.

He also expressed appreciation to parents, guardians, and residents of the state for their continued support of the ministry, and wishes students a successful completion of the Ramadan fast and a peaceful Sallah celebration.
