Journalists Charge Jigawa Governor-elect on Continuity

Members of the Correspondent Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Jigawa state chapter have called on the state governor-elect, Malam Umaru Namadi to uphold the culture of continuity by completing and building on all good work and projects started by his predecessor for the social and economic development of the state.

This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Dutse on Tuesday by the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Muhammed Zangina Kura.

The statement read; “We all bear witnessed when APC Government came to power in 2015 it completed virtually all the projects it inherited from the PDP led government and awards new ones.

“We do hope you will maintain the tempo and uphold continuity in moving the state forward.”

It added that, according to democratic tenants, which Nigeria adopted as its political process, leaders are produced through the election, and at the end of any election there will be a winner and loser while hope and opportunities remain open for everyone in the future.

“In view of that, Members of the Jigawa State Correspondent Chapel of the NUJ congratulate His Excellency, Jigawa state Governor-elect, Malam Umar Namadi for his victory in the just concluded gubernatorial elections in the state.

“Malam Umar Namadi a former Commissioner of finance and current deputy governor of the state is a man of integrity, moral discipline, selfless commitment, patriotism, and compassion for humanity.

“Malam Umar Namadi is a rear politician who distinguished himself in public service and earned the reputation and confidence of the people of Jigawa state in the last eight years.

“Your election as an APC flag bearer and the next Jigawa state governor is a clear testimony of your outstanding performance in public service, simplicity, loyalty, and obedience to the rule of law.

“As we congratulate you we assured you of our moral and professional support at all ramifications in your pursuance of viable projects with direct bearings in forging Jigawa state forward.” the statement revealed.

The Jigawa state working journalists also pray to Almighty Allah to  give the governor-elect more wisdom, health, and strength and guide his noble cause in discharging the responsibility diligently when sworn in as the fifth elected civilian Governor come 29th May 2023
