Jigawa Targets 40,000 Peoples in Second Phase of Covid-19 Vaccination

Jigawa State Ministry of Health has launched its second phase of Coronavirus Vaccination exercise targeting 40,000 front lines public workers.

The flagging- off ceremony held, Tuesday, at Kudai Primary Healthcare facilities, Dutse local government.

Speaking shortly after receiving his second dosage, the Executive Secretary, State Primary Healthcare Board, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Chamo said, they have concluded all necessary arrangements to ensure they completed the second phase within two to three weeks.

He said, they have enough dosage of the vaccine to cover all the front lines health workers, leaders, and other selected people that were vaccinated during the first phase.

Dr Kabiru explained that, it is evidently now to every body that, the vaccine is safe, as those vaccinated in the first phase are hale a hearty, therefore, all those spreading rumours about the vaccine should desists from doing that.

According to him, before the first phase of the vaccination exercise, over fourth health workers were infected with corona virus in the state and after they were all vaccinated no single health worker or any front-line worker have been reported to be infected with the virus to date.

The Executive Secretary further revealed that, after completing the second phase, the next batch of the vaccination exercise will focus on aged persons and those with special ailment in the society.

He than called on the general public to give all necessary support and cooperation for the exercise as it will continue batch by batch until every one gets vaccinated in the state.
