To strengthen healthcare delivery and ensure residents enjoy the dividends of democracy under Governor Umar Namadi’s administration, the Jigawa State Contributory Health-Care Management Agency on Tuesday commenced the enrollment of 1,023 new beneficiaries in Kaugama Local Government Area.

The Local Government Coordinator, Musa Rabi’u Zaburancy, said the agency is enrolling 93 additional residents in each of the 11 wards in Kaugama to expand access to free healthcare services.

He noted that ward committees, comprising the Ward Development Committee Chairman, a women’s representative, the Ward Head, the Imam, and other community leaders, have been conducting sensitization campaigns to mobilize residents for the exercise.

Special Adviser on Water and Sanitation to the Kaugama Council Chairman, Muhammad Garba, recalled that 1,000 beneficiaries per ward had previously been enrolled to access the state’s free healthcare initiative.

Target groups include pregnant women, the elderly, vulnerable sickle-cell patients, children under five, and orphans.

Council Chairman Hon. Usman Masaki Dansule commended Governor Namadi for extending free healthcare services to less privileged residents, particularly those in rural communities.
