Jigawa Assembly Passes N298.14b 2024  Budget

Jigawa State House of Assembly has passed the 2024 appropriation bill into law without any adjustments from the initial N298.14 Billion presented by Governor Malam Umar Namadi.

The house passed the budget during its sitting preceded by the Speaker Rt  Hon Haruna Aliyu Dangyating held on Thursday evening.

The chairman House Committee on Appropriation and member representing Malam Madori Constituency Hon Hamza Adamu Ibrahim presented the budget Before the house.

In his presentation, he highlighted some portions of the budget where an adjustment was made to ensure adequate funds for particular projects and also reduce the allocation of some projects that have more than enough.

Hon. Ibrahim also presented a report on the budget of the 27 local government areas of the state which stands at N 109.3 billion.

After the presentation of the appropriation committee report, the Majority Leader of the House and Member representing Roni Constituency Hon Muhammad Lawan Dansure moved a motion for the adoption of the report.

After a brief deliberation, the House unanimously passed the budget into law.

In his comment, the Speaker stated that the house has delivered its mandate by doing all necessary work on the budget and passed it in time to enable the executive to commence implementation of the budget according to the annual calendar.

Also shading more light on their report the chairman appropriation committee Hon Adamu Ibrahim, revealed that all Ministries, Parastatal, Agencies, and local government councils had appeared before the committee and depended on their budget in the presence of Civil society and the public.
