Iran Says trikes Will Continue ‘Whenever and Wherever Necessary’

Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani said “punitive action” against Israel would continue “whenever and wherever necessary” following overnight missile strikes.

“It was necessary to take punitive action in response to the terrorist and brutal act of the Zionist regime,” Mohajerani said.

She said the strikes were “essential for restoring our national pride and reclaiming the rightful rights of our people.”

“Following the order of the commander-in-chief and in coordination with the armed forces, an action was taken to punish this regime. Naturally, such measures will continue,” she said.

Iran launched hundreds of ballistic missiles at Israeli military targets Friday night in “True Promise 3” operation.

The strikes retaliated for Israeli attacks that killed six senior Iranian military officials, including Revolutionary Guards chief Hossein Salami.

Israeli forces continued strikes Saturday morning, hitting Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport and killing 60 people, including 20 children.

Iran’s air defense systems are active in Tabriz, Khoramabad, and Kermanshah.

Iranian armed forces spokesman said the missile strikes were “part of our operations” and warned that attacks would continue “until the criminal Zionist regime regrets” its actions.

Abolfazl Shekarchi said, “The regime is much weaker than being able to intercept our powerful missiles; our missiles can penetrate the regime’s multiple defense layers, and this time our missile attack was carried out with much more crushing power.”

The IRGC said targets included “military centers and air bases that were the source of criminal aggression against our country” and “military industrial centers used in the production of missiles and other equipment and military weapons for committing crimes against the resistant nations of the region, especially the Palestinian people and oppressed Gaza.”

“The enemy, despite claims of interception, failed to counter the waves of missile attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the statement said.

The IRGC said the operation was conducted “in response to the command of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Commander-in-Chief” and “the demand of the noble people of Iran.”

“This operation was carried out powerfully and offensively with the coordination of all institutions and armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the IRGC said.

The statement said the main message was that “the security of Islamic Iran is a red line for the armed forces.”
