Inter Miami crashed out of the CONCACAF Champions League after suffering a 5-1 aggregate defeat at the hands of Vancouver Whitecaps. Inter Miami were beaten over the two legs despite being the most valuable team in the MLS.
Vancouver Whitecaps beat Inter Miami both home and away, and it wasn’t a good sight for fans to see, as it wasn’t what they had hoped for.

It was just a matter of moments before they were level in the second leg. They scored two quick-fire goals to go past Inter Miami. Brian White’s goal in the 51st minute and Pedro Vite’s goal in the 53rd minute put the Whitecaps ahead.
While Inter Miami was trying to put itself together, the Whitecaps were running riot. They passed better, ran with more energy, and even more interestingly, they made Messi and Suarez look old and tired. They were all over Inter Miami.
In the 71st minute, it was all over for Inter Miami. Sebastian Berhalter, son of former U.S men’s national team coach Gregg Berhalter, scored a third goal on the night and the Whitecaps’ fifth on aggregate.
For Inter Miami fans, reality set in. They aren’t going to be in the CONCACAF Champions League final. This loss for Inter Miami has even bigger repercussions as the team had hoped to prove themselves on the regional level before even going for the Club World Cup.
This loss also highlighted that Inter Miami is nowhere near where they want to be. Their defense was exposed, and their lapses under Javi Mascherano were put on a platter for all to see.
