Inauguration: AIG Zone 10, Urges Citizens to Cooperate with Security Agencies

In an effort to update journalists on the security development ahead of the Governorship Inauguration in Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara states, the AIG zone 10 headquarters in Sokoto urged citizens to cooperate with security agencies for the peaceful conduct of the exercise.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the zone Alhaji Bello Sani Dalijan said the governorship Inaugurations scheduled to take place on Monday, May 29th, 2023 will simultaneously kick off across the three states of Sokoto, kebbi, and Zamfara as well as some states of the federation respectively.

He said since the conclusion of the 2023 General Elections and the announcement of the Governors- elect, security architecture has been beefed up throughout the zone with a view to forestall lasting peace in the affected states.

AIG Dalijan further the zonal Police command has reinforced the three state police commands with additional manpower by deploying additional officers and men across the three states.

According to him, the Inauguration ceremonies in the three states have been adequately taken care of, security-wise, as the AIG has already directed  Commissioners of Police and other sister security agencies within the zonal Command to ensure deployments to fortify venues of Inauguration Ceremonies in their respective states.

“We work in synergy with the state government, private sectors, and other security agencies to ensure a water-tight security of the good people within the zone before, during, and after the inauguration ceremony come May 29, 2023.”

The AIG advised the general public to be security conscious and vigilant and report any suspicious incidents or happenings observed within their neighborhood to the nearest Police formation.
