Olayinka Adeneho Braimoh, Governorship Candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in Kogi State, says he has the burden of lifting his people out of poverty, which is why he joined the race.

Braimoh stated this while unveiling his development vision for the state, promising sustainable growth and development through the ‘retention strategy’ if elected Governor in November’s Governorship election.

Braimoh, unveiled his development plans for the state at a media event in Lokoja while promoting his candidacy.

He was endorsed by the political machine of Action Alliance, and his endorsement was ratified by the delegates at the recent Governorship Primary election of the party in Lokoja, Kogi State capital.

The Action Alliance Governorship Candidate promised to maximize the natural endowment of Kogi State to create and retain wealth through the ‘retention strategy’ to create sustainable economic development, using the rich natural resources of the state to advance its economic potential to the advantage of the citizens.

“Our development focus is on Free and compulsory education with a special focus on quality primary education, Agricultural mechanization, tourism, solid mineral development, job creation, building an industrial park, trade and investment opportunities through strategic partnership, as well as joint ventures project anchored on wealth retention model.

“This is doable and achievable in view of our land mass, natural resources, population, and geographical location in Nigeria as we intend to combine the population of our neighbouring States in the north-central region with our current population of 5.6 million to get a market size of 56 million.

Braimoh says whereas the largest flower garden in the world in Dubai is on 7.2-hectare land, Kogi State Government under his leadership will build the world’s largest flower garden in Kogi State on 15 hectare of land that would surpass that of Dubai, with hotels and event centers that will attract two million visitors into the state every year to raise 400 billion naira revenue from the tourism sector.

“Our principal goal in wealth creation is food sufficiency”, he said, adding that in Kogi state, the average cost of food per person per day is N500.

“This means that we spend about N2.2 million every day on food and about N5.5 billion every month. How much of this money stays within our state? he queried.

Braimoh who hails from Akutupupa-Kiri in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, is a graduate of electrical and electronic engineering and holds an MBA.
