HYPPADEC to Involve Stakeholders in 2023 Strategic Plan

The Hydro-Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPPADEC) has assured the involvement of stakeholders in various communities of Commission states to achieve the set objectives.

The Chairman of, Governing Council of the Board, Barrister Joseph Terfa Ityav gave this assurance at the opening of the stakeholders’ forum on the proposed HYPPADEC Medium Term Strategic Plan 2023 which was held in Kebbi State.

He said the Commission has set out indicators, objectives, and targets to achieve the mandate set out for HYPPADEC.

According to him, the Commission would continue to involve stakeholders of the HYPPADEC states whenever they have working documents to enable them to meet their objectives through inclusiveness and generation of synergy to meet the yearning of all HYPPADEC communities.

He, therefore, implores the stakeholders to contribute constructively and meaningfully to the success of the meeting and hoped that in the end, they will come up with working documents for HYPPADEC.

The Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, described the mandate of HYPPADEC as important and urged the commission to work with other states in various aspects such as food security, and climate change among others.

Governor Bagudu said flooding affects fishing, farming, and rearing communities which needs the serious intervention of the commission.
