Hadejia Emir Solicits Assistance to Jigawa Flood Victims, as Tinubu Donates N50m

Emir of Hadejia, Dr. Adamu Abubaka Maje has called on government at all levels, corporate organizations, and other well-to-do people to assist Jigawa state flood victims who are in critical condition as a result of the disaster.

The Emir made the appeal when the All-Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu visited his palace to commiserate with the people of the state on the flood disaster which killed over 60 people.

He thanked Tinubu for the visit which he described as a clear testimony of his sense of belonging and compassion for humanity.

“We also thank you for identifying and sympathizing with us in this critical time, and we pray Almighty Allah to reward you with the best reward and also give you success in all your life endeavors,” the emir stated.

In his speech, Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar expressed the state government’s appreciation for the visit and described Tinubu as a good father who care about his children and humanity in general.

Tinubu commiserated with the state government, council of emirs, victims, and entire people of the state over the loss of their loved ones and properties worth a hundred million Naira.

He prays Almighty God to give them the fortitude to bear the loss and urged them to regard the affliction as an act of destiny.

Tinubu also denoted the sum of N50 million in assistance to the state flood victims.

According to the Executive Secretary of Jigawa State Emergency Management Agency, Alhaji Sani Yusif  Babura over 60 people died, over 10,000 people displaced and properties worth a hundred million destroyed by the flood and rainstorms across the 27 local governments are of the state.
