Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a major political shift in the state.
Stallion Times reports that Governor Yusuf defected to APC on Monday at the Coronation Hall of the Kano Government House.
He was formally received by former APC National Chairman and ex-Kano governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Ata, and other senior party leaders.
Governor Yusuf said his return to the APC was driven by the need to work more closely with the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
Yusuf was elected governor in 2023 on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) but defected alongside several members of the Kano State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives.
