Kano State Government has launched the Fix Kano App, a digital platform designed to deepen citizen participation, strengthen accountability, and accelerate service delivery across the state.
According to a statement on Sunday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the launch took place at the maiden Kano Startup Weekend 2025, organized by the Kano State Information Technology Development Agency (KASITDA).
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Yusuf Kofarmata, who declared the programme open.
Speaking on behalf of the Governor, Dr. Kofarmata described the Fix Kano App as a bold governance tool that provides a direct and structured channel for citizens to report issues and track government response to resolution.
He said the initiative reflects the Yusuf administration’s firm commitment to transparency, participatory governance, and efficient public service delivery.
The Director General of KASITDA, Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkari, said the app covers key sectors including infrastructure, security, health, education, sanitation, agriculture, and the environment.
He added that the platform is equipped with a monitoring and feedback mechanism to ensure accountability.
The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, commended Kano State for deploying a digital solution that supports data-driven governance and aligns with national digital transformation goals.
The State Government reaffirmed its resolve to support digital innovation and urged residents to actively use the Fix Kano App to responsibly report issues and improve governance outcomes.
