Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has extended heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Jigawa State following the tragic fire incident in Majia, which claimed over 100 lives and left more than 70 individuals with varying degrees of burns.
In a statement by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Governor described the incident as a heart-wrenching tragedy, a significant loss for Jigawa State and the nation.
“We received with deep shock the news of the devastating fire in Majia town, Taura Local Government Area, Jigawa State, resulting in the loss of many lives and the hospitalization of numerous victims.
“On behalf of the government and people of Kano State, I extend our deepest sympathies to Governor Umar Namadi, the government, and the people of Jigawa State, especially to the families of the deceased and the community of Majia.
“May Allah SWT grant eternal peace to the souls of the departed, speedy recovery to those injured, and may we never witness such a catastrophe again,” the Governor prayed.
