Governor Namadi Swears In Pioneer Chairman of Jigawa Anti-Corruption Commission

Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has sworn in Barrister Salisu Abdu as the pioneer Chairman of the State Public Complain and Anti-Corruption Commission.

Speaking after the swearing-in held at the Dutse Government House, Governor Malam Umar Namadi, said the commission was established to promote transparency, accountability, and honesty in managing public and private resources in the state and beyond.

He said that establishing such a commission handling of any financial cases could be more easily, accessible, and speedy in the state.

“It is part of my 12-point agenda to promote judicial use of public funds, and protect individual investment and property from any illegal encroachment or embezzlement,  I am optimistic that the Inauguration of the executive members of this important commission is a turning point for the journey”

“I urged the public to report any genuine complaint of financial crime or breach of trust to the commission for appropriate action following the rule of law.”

Governor Namadi also charged the pioneer executive members of the commission to fear God in handling any case brought before them and make the Commission a reliable avenue for resolving any financial cases.

“You are the pioneer executive members, selected based on merit,  I trusted the management of the commission to you, ” You are the one to build the public confidence in it now,

“Please be neutral and just for achieving the desired goals.

The Governor then promised not to interfere with the commission’s activities and vowed to deal with anybody who attempted to compromise the operations of the Commission. 

In his acceptance speech the pioneer Chairman of the anti-corruption commission promised to hold the responsibility given to them diligently, and with fear of God, also assured the Governor and all people of the state that they will strive to preserve the confidence reposed in them.

Other pioneer executive members are Musa Kalla, Uba Auyo Permanent Member I, Hassan Hashim Permanent Member II, Muhammad Bari Birniwa Permanent members III, Barrister Yakubu Ibrahim, Secretary, Shehu Abdu Zakar, and Dr Safiya Aliyu as part-time members.
