Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has signed the 2024 state appropriation bill into law and vows to implement it religiously.

The Governor signed the budget barely less than a week after the State House of Assembly passed it.

Speaking shortly after signing the budget, Governor Namadi commended the state house of assembly for scrutinizing the budget, doing all the necessary legislative work, and passing it in time.

He explained the timely passage of the budget by the Assembly would enable the state executive to maintain the annual budget calendar and also deliver a much-expected dividend of democracy to the Jigawa state people.

“Today is a memorable occasion, as we signed our first budget since assumed office, and  it marks another milestone in our quest to make Jigawa Great”

“We are committed to the full implementation of this document which was designed as a framework to guide our annual expenditure for achieving the desired goals.”

The approved Jigawa state 2024 budget amounted to ₦298.14 billion, with the sum of N111.98 billion representing 37 % of the allocated for recurrent expenditure and N175.44 representing 59% for Capital expenditure.
