Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has disbursed N492 million to 1,187 youths to boost entrepreneurship in trading, farming, and equipment acquisition.

According to the breakdown, 276 beneficiaries received the ARISE Farmers Grant, 628 got the ARISE Traders Grant, 263 benefited from the ARISE Equipment Support Scheme, eight received N5 million each under the MSME grant, while 12 others were presented with cars and minibuses.

Speaking at the Uyo Township Square, Ibom Hall grounds, the governor noted that in just two years, his administration has executed 116 projects, including roads, health centres, compassionate and elderly homes, and primary schools across Uyo, Uruan, Nsit Attai, and Ibesikpo Asutan councils.

The Governor explained that the stakeholders’ meeting was convened to present the Federal Constituency’s needs document for inclusion in the 2026 People’s Budget, while also delivering grants to constituents as part of his outreach to all constituencies in the state.

He commended the people of Uyo for their impressive turnout, describing them as “landlords of the Government House,” and lauded the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, for uniting his people with the centre.
