Governor Badaru Signs 2023 Budget into Law

Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has signed the state 2023 budget into law.

The Governor signed the budget yesterday after the state assembly pass it with no increase from the amount of N172 million presented to them.

Speaking to journalists shortly after signing the budget, governor Badaru expressed his satisfaction with the state budget performance in the last seven years of his administration.

He noted that the 2023 budget was designed to consolidate all the gains made in the last seven years, particularly in the area of physical and human capital development.

“The 2023 Jigawa state budget will be used for completing most of the ongoing projects in the state.

“In the last seven years, we were able to construct over 1,700 km of roads, achieved 95 percent access to waters, improved our GDP by over 100 percent, and built and renovated over 6,000 classrooms.

“Through effective budget implementation, the education sector, we are able to improve our education sector and the results are shown in our students WAEC/NECO results from 4.5 percent to over 60 percent of those who obtained 5 credits including Math and English.”

Governor Badaru then promised to ensure the Jigawa state people continue to enjoy dividends of democracy throughout his tenure.
