Gombe Demolishes Two Hotels Over Child Trafficking, Exploitation

News Desk

Gombe State government has demolished two hotels linked to the trafficking and exploitation of minors.

A special committee set up by the government to address illegal activities in the state uncovered disturbing cases of child and youth trafficking for illicit purposes.

On 26 December 2024, the committee discovered young male children at Amdaku Guest Inn, trafficked from Potiskum in Yobe State for exploitation.

In a separate investigation, underage girls were found at IDG Otal in Lafiya Mango, near the Progress Radio Station, where they were being subjected to abuse.

Muhammad Isah Usman, the committee’s spokesperson, confirmed that the demolitions were carried out in accordance with the law due to the serious criminal activities occurring at these establishments.

He said: “In light of these unlawful actions at these locations, the committee has demolished the buildings as authorized by law.”

The government’s decisive action reflects its ongoing efforts to combat child trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals in the state.
