In a routine crackdown on gender based violators, Kebbi state, Police Command on Saturday arrested eleven persons for allegedly raping an imbecile minor of thirteen years of age at Shanga local government area of Kebbi state.

The Command’s image maker, CSP Nafiu Abubakar in a statement said that at least eleven suspects are cooling their feets in Police net following reports from Shanga local government divisional Police officer that some men eleven in number took advantage of an imbecile fourteen years old minor and forcefully had sex with her at Tungar Giwa village under Shanga local government.

He added that the arrest of the suspects was part of efforts by the Command to stamp out gender based violence in Kebbi state ” we will not relent in ensuring every girl- child is safe and free from sexual abuse or any form of gender violence.”

He listed the suspects in their custody as Ibrahim Bakanike, Danladi nauyi, Danjuma Meli, masta maishayi, Danjuma kodo, Zayyanu Isah, Aminu Isah, Bello Muhammad, Ibrahim Isiayaka and Ahmed all from Tungar Giwa Shanga local government.

He appealed to members of the public to assist the police with credible information just as they prepare to arraign the suspects before the court after completing investigations on the case.
