The committee established by former Kano State Governor and ex-APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to review the dismissal of Hisba officials by the current Kano government has held its inaugural meeting.
The committee is chaired by the Director-General of the National Productivity Center, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’Agundi, and is tasked with assessing the fate of the dismissed Hisba personnel and exploring alternative opportunities for them.
Comprising seven members, the committee resolved to appoint 44 representatives from each of the state’s local government areas. These local sub-committees will verify the status of approximately 1,000 Hisba officials disengaged by the present administration.
In addition, the committee reconstituted a three-member panel to coordinate the nomination of one representative from each local government area.
The committee is expected to reconvene later this week to review reports from its sub-committees and continue its assignment.
