Stallion Times

The prime minister of Lebanon and France’s foreign minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, met on Monday, September 30, as the country endures yet another horrific day.

In the midst of an Israeli bombardment campaign on Lebanon, Barrot, who arrived in the country’s capital on Sunday, September 29, hopes to expand humanitarian aid and pave the path for diplomatic talks.

Najib Mikati, the prime minister, greeted Barrot.

Barrot restated France’s commitment to assisting Lebanon’s armed forces and its support for the country, according to the Lebanese official news agency.

Barrot also demanded that presidential elections be held.

Implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which declared the end of the 2006 Hezbollah-Israel war, is the top priority, according to Lebanon’s prime minister.

Following that, Jean-Noël Barrot met with Nabih Berri, the speaker of the Lebanese parliament.

About 11 million dollars in emergency humanitarian aid, primarily to support the work of the Lebanese Red Cross, will be released by Paris.
