FG Awards 47.5killomter Roads Worth Over N32b in Kebbi

The Federal Government has approved the construction of 47.5 km of township roads in Jega and Aliero Local Government areas of Kebbi state.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony which took place on Thursday in Jega and Aliero respectively, the Federal Controller of the Federal Ministry of Works, Kebbi field headquarters, Engr. James K. Bugu said the contract period is 24 months for both local governments and is estimated to gulp up over N32 billion.

According to him, the contracts are in line with the present administration’s commitment to addressing infrastructural deficits in the country aimed at providing the much-needed impetus to stimulate economic growth and ease of doing business with other states.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman Senate Committee on works and Senator representing Kebbi central, Muhammdu Adamu Aliero said the roads will go a long way in addressing the road deficit within the ancient towns of Jega and Aliero.

Senator Aliero who initiated the constituency project assured of the government’s commitment to providing much-needed services to the people through quality representation.

Speaking to newsmen at the event, some of the beneficiaries, Alhaji Atiku Bunu Dangaladima and Ibrahim Aliero commended the Federal Ministry of Works and Senator Aliero for the gesture assuring to compliment the effort by promoting peace and unity.

Also speaking, one of the contractors for the project, Engr. Abubakar Khalil assured to completion of the project within the stipulated time, urging the beneficiaries to give them the necessary support in achieving the set objectives.
