Nigeria’s federal administration has announced that the digital recruitment platform for the nation’s paramilitary organizations will resume operations on Monday, July 21, 2025, following a brief closure aimed at enhancing system functionality.
This information was shared through an official statement published on the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board’s verified X social media account on Sunday.
Candidates who previously began their application processes have been instructed to access the portal and finalize their submissions at https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng.
“Please be kindly informed that applicants who successfully initiated their applications are advised to retrieve their applications and complete the applications they have initiated.
“The system will reopen on Monday, July 21st, 2025,” the statement read in part.
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board, which oversees recruitment for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Immigration Service, Nigerian Correctional Service, and Federal Fire Service, paused the recruitment process on July 16, 2025.
According to the board, this decision was implemented to facilitate essential system improvements that would strengthen the platform’s ability to handle substantial application volumes while ensuring fairness, transparency, and efficiency throughout the recruitment process.
The recruitment initiative was originally planned to begin on June 26, 2025, but was delayed until July 14 following numerous user complaints about portal accessibility problems. During this initial period, system overload caused frequent crashes, login difficulties, and incomplete application submissions.
These technical difficulties eventually resulted in the temporary closure, as the board worked to upgrade infrastructure and prevent similar issues in the future.
This national recruitment campaign provides opportunities for eligible Nigerians to apply across three primary categories: General Duty or Superintendent cadre, Inspectorate cadre, and Assistant cadre, based on individual educational backgrounds.
Qualifying credentials span from Senior Secondary Certificate Examination certificates to bachelor’s degrees and relevant professional certifications.
Candidates must be Nigerian citizens by birth and fall within the 18 to 35 years age range. Physical fitness requirements include minimum heights of 1.65 meters for male applicants and 1.60 meters for female applicants.
Male candidates must also meet a minimum chest measurement of 0.87 meters. All applicants must provide medical fitness certification from recognized government-operated hospitals.
The board has specified that individuals with criminal backgrounds or documented financial misconduct will be excluded from consideration.
Only selected candidates will receive communication regarding subsequent process stages, and no third parties are authorized to contact applicants on behalf of the board.
Applicants have been reminded that the complete recruitment process involves no fees whatsoever.
