The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has distanced himself from the Peoples Democratic Party’s decision to expel the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose; and several other party leaders.
In a statement issued on Saturday by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere, the governor clarified that the issue was never discussed by the PDP Governors’ Forum or the National Executive Committee before the motion for expulsion was presented. He stressed that the proposal does not reflect his position.
The statement read, “The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has formally distanced himself from the expulsion of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and former Governor of Rivers State, Barr. Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, alongside other leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
Mutfwang reiterated that the matter was neither deliberated upon by the Governors’ Forum nor the NEC before being brought to the convention floor.
