As the People of Engila Community, in Agatu Local Government of Benue State are preparing for the celebration of Engila day they have urged the people to pray for God’s intervention in restoring peace and security in the community.

In a statement issued by the President  General and the Chairman of Engila Development Association (EDA), Dr Godwin Adanu and Elaigwu Peter Onuminya, condemned the latest spree of killings and bloodbaths in Okokolo Community and other parts of the Local Government by the killer’s herdmen.

They called on Nigerians to pray for God’s intervention to restore peace and security across the Local Government, especially in the river line areas.

They commended the efforts of security agencies for prompt response to attack whenever they were called upon but called on federal and state governments to deploy more Security personnel to the border communities to forestall incessant attacks by the killer’s herdsmen.

The statement further disclosed that the Senator representing Benue South senatorial district, Senator Abba Moro, and the member representing Apa/ Agatu federal constituency, Ojotu Ojema, the caretaker chairman of Agatu Local Government Yakubu Ochohepo will be among those to be honoured for their meritorious services.
