An American-based social welfare organisation has charged the federal government to emulate the Chinese education system and create an enabling environment for citizens to thrive to stem the trend of mass migration of Nigeria’s professionals to foreign nations.

The group, Diaspora Solution Group (DSG) , admonished the government to emulate the Chinese model of sending its youth abroad to acquire functional education and bringing them back after some years to work in already established industries.

The group’s President, Gideon Oyeleke, who stated this in Osogbo during a medical outreach organised by frowned at the mass exodus of our highly trained professionals noted that the Chinese model is now yielding positive results.

On the medical outreach, Oyeleke said it was a way of giving back to the society, adding that the beneficiaries have been educated on health-related issues.

His words: “The medical outreach was for the benefit of our people and a way of giving back to society.

“We have educated our people on some medical needs and done free tests for them. We educate them on stroke and brain diseases

He expressed his satisfaction at the massive turn out of people for the exercise, calling on well meaning individuals and organisations to emulate DSG as, according to him, many people desire medical attention but cannot afford it.
