Emir of Gwandu Turbans Fed Lawmaker, Igbo Chief, 13 Others in Kebbi

It was a colorful and mammoth crowd ceremony in Kebbi State as all National Assembly Senior Principal members and prominent Nigeria stormed Kebbi State for the Turbaning ceremony of one of their colleagues, Hon. Bello Ka’oje as Koguna Gwandu.

The Gwandu Emirate which is the largest in Kebbi State turbaned and gives out traditional titles to no fewer than 15 personalities including an Igbo Chief in the state.

The ceremony which took place at the Emir of Gwandu palace on Saturday was witnessed by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, the Majority Leader, Alhassan Ado Dogowa and former Governors, Politicians, Kebbi State APC Governorship candidate, Dr. Nasiru Idris Kaura Gwandu, and Ministers.

The Emir of Gwandu Alhaji Muhammad Illiyasu Bashar who gave out traditional titles to a Federal Lawmaker as Koguna and others described all the titles as a symbol of unity in the society.

Delivery his Remarks, The Emir who is also the Chairman of the Kebbi State Council of the traditional ruler, said that his decision was to foster unity among the people while urging Nigerians to accept President Muhammad Buhari’s policy of his administration.

The Royal Father, who called on the electorate to avoid any political violence and vote for their own choice, commended the Central Bank of Nigeria’s new monetary policy.

“I urged all Nigerians to be patient with the Buhari administration on the new money withdrawal policy as is a way of reducing corruption and improving the economy,” he added.

He, therefore, added that the new currency with time would be circulating throughout the federation without any difficulty to obtain it as well as bring sanity to the economy saboteurs

The Monarch then admonished all the people of the Emirate to cooperate with the national census commission on the forthcoming national enumeration, stressing the need that it will be used for proper planning for national development.

“I equally called on the newly traditional title holders to be dedicated to their duties as they are now the representatives of the Emirate Council, Kebbi State people, and Nigeria as a whole,” he said.

Speaking to our correspondents shortly after the ceremony, one of the Newly Turbaning title holders, Hon. Bello Ka’oje as Koguna Gwandu and also Dallatun Brogun express appreciation over the title adding that the title will bring him closer to the people in the Community.

“My conferment would motivate me to redouble my efforts on humanitarian services, health, environmental and career counseling for youths and other relevant support,” he added.

“From now on, we shall continue to be discharging our services to the Emirate and Emir of Gwandu’. All the support services we are rendering, either through my profession, Chamber and NGO, we are going to redouble it.”

Also speaking while fielding questions from Newsmen, the representative of the National Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Idris Wase also thanked the Emir of Gwandu for promoting one of their colleagues with the traditional title in his dormain.
