Elections Victory: Police Warns Against Violence in Sokoto

The Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) under the able leadership of the Sokoto state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Usaini Gumel appreciates stakeholders for their tremendous commitments and cooperation in the conduct of last Saturday’s Elections in the State.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Useni Gumel said more efforts are required to sustain the marvelous achievements recorded during last Saturday’s Eleçtions.

 “Political-Heavy Weights, Traditional and Religious institutions should prevail on the citizens and followers of political parties to obey the laws and avoid acts capable of disrupting the peaceful nature of the State.

“It’s in view of the foregoing, that I wish to notify all citizens that ICCES in Sokoto State has deployed all its operational and intelligence assets and personnel to checkmate any unwanted act of mayhem by any group in support or against the announcement of the Eleçtion result in the State.

“The police enjoy stakeholders to warn residents on the need to keep calm and respect the established laws, rules and regulations as anyone found wanting will not be spared.”
