A Coalition of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) accredited observers have urged the Kano State Police Command to unravel the masterminds of the killing of some persons in Tudun Wada Local Government Area, a day after the presidential and national assembly elections.

The Chairman of the Coalition, Dr. Ibrahim Baba, made the call at a crowded press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre, Kano, on Friday.

Dr. Baba said the killers should be fished out and prosecuted so as to deter others whom he alleged, were also planning to unleash civil unrest during tomorrow’s Governorship and House of Assembly elections.

He commended the people of Tudun Wada and the entire Rano Emirate for not embarking on a rampage to protest the incident that occurred on 26 February 2023.

The Coalition then commiserated with the people of the area over the incident and prayed to Allah (SWT) to grant Jannatul Firdaus to those that lost their lives during the mayhem.

It also prayed for the quick recovery of those who sustained injuries during the incident.

The group then called on the people of the state to come out en masse on Saturday to elect the candidates of their choice, adding that it is their fundamental constitutional right to do so.

“They should also report any forms of violence in their respective areas during the elections, to the appropriate authorities, “the coalition said.

It also urged the people of the area to be on the lookout for the concluding part of the House of Representatives election to be held in 13 polling units in Tudun Wada Local Government Area.
