Musa Na Allah, Sokoto

Sokoto state Governor Ahmed Aliyu has urged Muslims all over the country to pray and seek divine intervention against security challenges facing Nigeria as they celebrate Eidel Maulud.

This is in his Maulud message to the state’s people on Sunday.

The Governor described security challenges facing the country as a major setback to Nigeria’s development, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to confront the menace.

“No meaningful development happens where there is no peace, so pay more attention to prayers so our country can be free of its present predicaments.

“Let us dedicate more time and pray hard as we observe supplications in this festive season,” Aliyu averred.

He appealed to Muslim clerics to educate their followers on the significance of prayers, especially in trying moments.

He however renewed his administration’s determination to promote and support more religious activities in the state.

“Promoting Islamic affairs is one of our9-point smart agenda, therefore, we’ll accord it the desired attention,” he added.

The Governor further wishes Muslim Ummah all over the country a prosperous Eidel Maulud celebrations, as the Federal Government declared today Monday, the 16th of September 2024 as a public holiday to enable the Ummah to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
