The Kano State Police Command on Wednesday extended felicitations to the Muslim Ummah on the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan, urging residents to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr in peace and harmony.
In a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command said comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place across the state in collaboration with other security agencies to ensure a hitch-free celebration.
The statement noted that security personnel have been fully deployed and remain on high alert to maintain law and order throughout the festive period, in line with directives from the Kano State Government.
Residents were advised to conduct themselves peacefully, respect the rights of others, and comply with all security guidelines, including restrictions on certain activities during the celebrations.
The Command warned that any form of unlawful or disorderly behaviour would not be tolerated, stressing that security agencies are prepared to deal decisively with anyone found disrupting public peace.
CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori called on parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against being used by troublemakers, adding that violators of the law would face prosecution.
The Police Command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, while appealing to members of the public to cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious activities through designated emergency lines.
The Command wished all Muslims in the state a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
