The authorities of Edo State University, Iyamho, have promoted nine senior academic staff to the positions of professors.
The spokesperson of the university, Amaechi Kelly Quincy, disclosed this on the school’s Facebook page on Wednesday.
Quincy said six of the senior academic staff were promoted to the rank of associate professors and three to the rank of full professors.
He said the staff were promoted to the exalted academic positions following favorable assessments.
He listed those promoted to Associate Professors to include Dr. Ewomazino Akpor, department of Mass Communication, Dr. Benjamin Olusola Abere, department of Economics, Dr. Anthony Iyoha Emhenya, department of Political Science/Public Administration.
Also promoted are Dr. Izehiuwa G. Enato, Department of Pediatrics, Dr Oseni Tijani Idris Ahmad, Department of Family Medicine and
Dr. (Mrs) C.A. Idaguko, Department of Anatomy.
Those promoted to full professors are Prof. A. E. Memudu, department of Anatomy, Prof. Omosigho Omoruyi Pius, department of Medical Laboratory Science and Prof. (Engr) Ugheoke Benjamin Iyenagbe, department of Mechanical Engineering.
The image maker of the institution said the acting vice-chancellor of the school, Prof. Dawood O. Egbefo congratulated all the promoted staff on their well-earned achievements.
He said the Vice Chancellor described their promotions as a testament to their sustained academic excellence, professionalism, and leadership.

“The promotions reflect the university’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and recognizing the invaluable contributions of its faculty to the advancement of knowledge and societal development.

The Acting Vice Chancellor noted that the management looks forward to the promoted academic staff’s continued contributions in shaping the future of higher education at the university.
The Edo State University, Iyamho, is in the Etsako West Local Government Area of the State.
