D’Tigress, Nigeria’s female basketball team, edged past Senegal 75–68 to book a spot in the final of the 2025 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket.
The tense game was held at the Palais des Sports de Treichville in Côte d’Ivoire on Saturday.
Senegal had an 11–2 lead within the first three minutes of play and led by 8 points at the beginning of the 4th quarter, but the Nigerian ladies proved their mettle by overpowering their opponents by 7 points.
With their eyes on the trophy, the Nigerian side is to make history as the first country to win five consecutive Women’s Afrobasket tournaments.
D’Tigress will face the winner of the encounter between Mali and South Sudan, who are also semi-finalists.
